Privacy on this site
What this site keeps, where it keeps it and who to ask. Updated October 2026.
Everything here is fictional
This site shows Slooch working at two fictional schools, Riverside House School in Durbanville and Ridgeview Primary School in Kuils River. Every learner, parent, teacher, mark, message and payment in it is made up. Please don't type in real information about real people.
What's kept on this device
When you use the apps, your browser keeps the changes you make, such as a form you submit or a message you send, so the school day carries on where you left it. It also keeps who you're viewing as in each app, and small preferences like high contrast and your language choice.
If you add Slooch to your home screen, the browser keeps a copy of the app's files too, so it opens without a connection. Removing the app from your home screen removes that copy.

The shared record
When this site is linked to a shared record, the changes you make are saved there as well, so a phone and a laptop show the same school day. Everyone using the same session sees them. Clearing this browser doesn't remove anything from the shared record.
Messages sent with Talk to us are saved there, with the contact details you give, so the Slooch team can reply.
What this site doesn't do
This site doesn't show adverts or use tracking cookies. What you type isn't sold, and it isn't used to train AI models.
When Slooch runs for a real school
The school is the responsible party under POPIA, and Slooch processes learner and family information on its behalf under an operator agreement. The permanent service will be hosted in South Africa, and each school decides who can see what.
Questions
Questions about this notice go to the Slooch team. Questions about records at a school go to that school's information officer: Mrs Naidoo (Principal) at Riverside House School and Mrs Dlomo (Principal) at Ridgeview Primary School.
